j&j

i'm needing to catch up on my blogging... this time of year is always crazy for me, and this seems to be the first thing that i push aside...
a few weeks back, i spent a beautiful day with jade and jeremy... we had excellent weather and an awesome wedding party! and boy, did their guests know how to party! jade, i hope you see how worth it it was to rock this (very uncomfortable) dress! you were stunning.
thank you guys for having me be a part of your day and i wish you and your family all the very best!

i love the part of my job that allows me to watch little families grow... below is one of those families....
i did melissa and orrin's wedding a few years back, and have enjoyed doing multiple family sessions since then!
they are such a beautiful family! (as you can see for yourself)
and to say that their kids are awesome is an understatement (mom and dad aren't bad either!)
thanks again melissa!

our little niece or nephew nugget...

the only thing better than taking photos of my clients and their 'moments' is sharing in these with my own family :)
my sister-in-law and brother-in-law are expecting their first addition in October... and we are THRILLED (they're gonna be some kickin parents)!
faira and i chatted a lot about her maternity photos and how she didn't want the 'typical' photos... so these below are the outcome of some handy work with random material and perfectly bold jewelry. (which we had a great time searching for, as we both love shopping :)
and though our family may be facing some rough waters, faira and kev are staying beautifully strong together and are going to be a blessing to this little growing babe.
i wish you all the very best in this crazy adventure called 'parenthood'- it's an indescribable thing and i can't wait for you to experience it!
love you (three) so dearly...

daelyn & joe...

hello again :)
it's a new beautiful day, and another lovely blog post.
i've been a part of the bridal fair here in Red Deer for the past number of years and always look forward to it every season. during the last one, i met Daelyn and her mom. i recognized her mom from way back when i was in junior high and went to school with their other daughter, Elise.
i knew right away that i wanted to be a part of their day when i heard about their style and ideas :)
it was a great fit and we really loved spending our afternoon with them.
during the ceremony, we (Julia and I) got a little worried, listening to the rain, hail, and thunder! but as we drove out to the family farm, the sun came out and clouds scattered! it was beautiful.

thank you again Daelyn and Joe and congratulations :)
it was a refreshing and inspiring wedding...

*thank you Julia for this stunning ring shot!*

baby e

below are photos of a dear friends' baby girl... this babe's mom has been a friend of mine for over 10 years and i am so blessed to have been able to capture her little one at 10 days new...
i don't specialize in newborn, and only do them for a select few family and friends... but couldn't pass this one by. she is so sweet and slept most of the session... that's what all us photographers dream of!
i'm excited to watch this little bean grow... she is so blessed to have the amazing parents she has, and is already loved so dearly...

here's to you little one...

veronika & adam

i always love the beginning of my wedding season... not only does it usually mean that warm weather is finally returning, but it's the start of my 'busy time', getting to do what i love- spending amazing days with fantastic people who are tying the knot, and celebrating with friends and family.
these moments are also spent battling mosquitos, calming nerves, crawling around the ceremony (trying to be 'invisible'), and making sure that every special photo is taken.... all of which are part of the best job I could ever ask for... seriously
below are some photos from veronika and adam's special day. they got married at her grandma's farm out by Trochu... on the days leading up to, and even the morning of, we were a little wary of the weather and impending rain... but of course it held off (always does) for as long as we needed... we did however, battle some intense wind, but this couple rocked their shoot (as seen below!)
one photo i did not post here involves their guns :) i actually texted veronika the day before her wedding and asked her if she could bring one of her pistols to the wedding! (a first for me, for sure). they love shooting, and we incorporated it into not only their engagement session, but their wedding photos too!
congrats to adam and veronika- thank you for allowing me to be part of your day... and here's to a fantastic summer ahead!

this photo not only shows her *stunning* dress, but to the left is a photo of her great grandparents on their wedding day... the bride also wore the same earrings that she is wearing in the picture...

another family wedding photo captured in this picture...

below is a photo of their 'ring bearer' and 'flower girl'... the bride's great aunt and uncle that just celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary!

the groom loved the El Camino so much... they had it parked behind them in the ceremony so it'd be in the photos.... (boys and their toys :)
