Stunning... {to say the absolute least}

i don't know where to start with leia & greg's wedding...
it was amongst the most beautiful, heartfelt, emotional, inspiring, and, of course, stunning weddings.
i've been friends with leia for quite a few years, and i'm SO thrilled she found her man, Greg. they are what some may call, 'the perfect couple'... they balance.
she has always been one of the most passionate people i've ever met. and greg is the strong, silent, and always smiling type.
they got hitched in Panorama a few months ago and it was the perfect backdrop. i mean seriously, the red with the white, and the beautiful wedding party... a photographer's dream.
this couple has faced a lot together already, battling through some trying times (a close relative has been fighting the tough fight with cancer) and have come out super strong, super in love.
thank you, leia and greg, for including me in your wedding day. it was such an honor.

*this girl certainly knows how to dress the part... shoes ordered from Europe....

*this is what i meant when i said 'beautiful wedding party'.... seriously now.

*i have never seen a bride rip up the dance floor like leia did. ever.

EVER.

my little man....

hi friends,
after taking some time off from the blogging world, i've decided to come back with a personal post. below are some photos of our son...
i won't bore you with sappy words about how much we love him, and he's made our lives so much better and exciting... we are just the typical parents who are head over heals about our boy.
on mother's day morning, i was feeling rotten with a nasty cold, but this little person came in my room (after my breakfast in bed!) and started playing on the bed. (in beautiful lighting... so i had to grab my camera).
these will, one day soon, be displayed in our home. he brings us so much joy....
this is liam.

his favorite thing to do is to play on the bed...

i absolutely agree that this boy needs a serious hair cut...

meagan & justyn

one of the many reasons I love my job is that it allows me to meet new people and travel. i L-O-V-E travelling. the couple below got married recently at Jarvis Bay (by Sylvan Lake)... and while it is a little drive from where i live, they are also having a ceremony in MEXICO and I get to come to that too!
not only am i looking forward to shooting somewhere tropical, but i'm sure we are going to have a blast cause their friends and family are awesome and we had a great time at their wedding.
meagan and justyn had an evening ceremony, so the lighting proved to be a bit tricky... but we rolled with it! they are a couple that is so in love, so it makes taking their photos easy- plus they laugh a lot which helps too!
thank you guys for allowing me to be a part of your wedding (here and in Mexico)...
you're a perfect fit for each other...

to seattle with love....

i've been looking forward to this wedding below for a long time!
my good friend, jen, used to live here in red deer, but moved down to kirkland/seattle to pursue a future as a naturopathic doctor, and met her love, joel, while down there.
i was HONORED to be asked to shoot their wedding as they are precious people, and i L-O-V-E the seattle area.
my husband, son, and i made a vacation out of the trip and it was perfect. we had great weather and a fantastic time with family, whom we don't see very often.
jen and joel are so in love, and i'm excited for their future together (but wish we lived closer)... we had a blast spending the day with them and their awesome wedding party. seriously it was so great.
thank you so much for asking me to capture your day. and congrats friends....

*thanks to my husband/assistant extraordinaire who climbed a shakey tree to get this shot!

baby j

a little bit ago, i posted a maternity session of katie and nathan, with their little superhero son... well below is their newest addition...
i love capturing these moments and milestones for growing families... this little babe is a charm and will bring much joy to katie and nathan and their family...
congratulations!

carly & brett...

i have recently shot my last wedding of the season (aside from one in Mexico this winter!) and it feels good... now i'm just trying to get them all edited and out the door, so my brides and grooms can enjoy them!
below are a few photos from carly and brett's wedding out by rocky mountain house.
one thing i can say about this wedding is that we laughed a lot! it was so awesome to spend the day with this whole wedding party...
you can tell that carly put a lot of thought and time into planning the details of her big day... and it totally paid off :)
a special part of the photo session was when we got to take some shots with her horse... i'm not ashamed to say that horses kinda scare me, but i LOVE taking pictures of them... they are so stunning (and so was carly, so it was a killer combination!)
thank you both for having us there for your awesome day!

*apparently she does this all the time :)

*sorry brett, for kicking you out of these ones... there's just something about a girl and her horse....

mr. & mrs....

another blog post, another happy couple...
back in august, teighan and kyle tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony, surrounded by their lovely family and friends, and showed us they know how to have a great time, and are so adorably in love.
we loved capturing all that you poured into your day, and hope you are taking in all the 'firsts' as a married couple. Thank you for choosing us to be there with you...

*they chose to not do a first look, but still be together for a moment before the ceremony started... this first photo shows his anticipation for his bride

*thanks again to julia for yet another amazing ring shot...

*the last frog to kiss... she's found her prince...
